Customer Reviews: 0 of 0 found this review helpful: most amazing little tool, 2008-06-28 I did a little research about Collagen Induction Therapy (CIT) before purchasing the Dermaroller, and found the science behind it solid. Still, I was a bit nervous needling my skin! I looked on skin care forums to find the proper method and review the results of others which gave me the courage and motivation. I decided on this method: six weekly rolls and then a prolonged break (3-6 months), and a possible repeat. Well, I am a little over 1 month past my last weekly roll of the first session, and I'm quite impressed with the results already (final results emerge after appoximately 6 to 9 months). Fine lines on my forehad and eyes are greatly diminished or no longer visible. Pore size is noticeably reduced. Some slight redness on one of my cheeks is vitually gone, a broken capillary on the side of my nose has faded a bit. The areas above and below my eyes seem a bit tigher and lifted. My skin is plumper, firmer, clearer, and just glows. I was so impressed with this little tool, I bought a smaller needle size for product penetration (the .5mm Dermaroller)that I plan to use 3x a week or so. I've read several medical articles and several reviews of this product and could find nothing negative about it or CIT in general. The downside, however, (isn't there always one?)is that it is painful. Some people use numbing cream or ice to ease the pain. I, however, did not, so it really depends on your tolerance for pain whether or not you'll need the numbing cream or even whether you can realistically use this tool. No pain, no gain, though right? To me, the pain is tolerable and the results are well worth it! If you want a safer, cheaper alternative to microdermabrasion, laser resurfacing, Botox and fillers that you can do at home, give this a try. There's not nearly the instant gratification of the aforementioned treatments, but the results can be comparable with less downtime.
